Australia Post Limited

Customised furniture fit out

OfficeMax® was successfully awarded the Australia Post stationery contract in September 2007.

As an outcome of this new contract relationship, Australia Post approached their OfficeMax® Account Representative, Matt Knowles, to provide them with a seating range which fulfilled their specific requirements.

The outcome OfficeMax® was required to deliver included;

  • A range to suit the varying functionality required by 35,000 staff
  • All products to pass testing by Australia Post National Ergonomist
  • All products to pass OH&S and AFRDI level 4-6 testing
  • All products covered by a suitable warranty
  • Prices to be competitive and annually fixed.

OfficeMax® was able to meet these requirements and allocated a National Furniture Specialist to service the Australia Post seating account, with further support from the national furniture management team and state based furniture sales managers.

OfficeMax® also facilitated the viewing of the seating range online through the Australia Post e-Procurement system. This allowed an implementation of crucial purchasing controls that had previously not been possible.

OfficeMax® was appointed as one of two seating suppliers for Australia Post nationally in February 2008.

Joy Mining Machinery

Cost control and efficiency rewards from supply consolidation

An OfficeMax® office supplies customer since 2001, Joy Mining Machinery accepted a proposal from OfficeMax® Account Manager Louise White to also provide all the copy paper needs for their Moss Vale site in the Southern Highlands of NSW in March 2008.

Fortnightly stock auditing, monitoring, ordering and delivery to ten locations within the site was the key to winning this extension to the supply partnership; Joy Mining Machinery’s 550 staff are furnished with an efficient and economical supply of copy paper and an expanding portfolio of office supplies.

The provision of usage analysis by location and by Joy Mining Machinery’s own cost centres is a feature of OfficeMax®’s reporting output.

Joy Mining Machinery have rewarded the OfficeMax® team with the consolidation of purchases in other categories, furniture fit outs to enhance working conditions for their staff and a further contract with sister company P & H MinePro.
