Forest Stewardship Council Excellence Awards
OfficeMax's ongoing commitment to ethical business practices and sustainability has again been recognised at the 2012 Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Australia Excellence Awards. Following on from its 2011 FSC Retailer of the Year award, OfficeMax took out the title of 2012 Retailer of the Year as well as securing the Responsible Procurement Award.
FSC certification is internationally recognised as the most rigorous environmental and social standard for responsible forest management. The FSC therefore aims to engage organisations and individuals who are committed to creating a marketplace that promotes environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world's forests.
The objective of the annual awards ceremony is to recognise and reward those who exemplify the spirit and intent of the FSC system through their corporate responsibility and management practices, contribution and their promotion of FSC certification and products.
